The Court of Appeal upheld the verdict of First Instance Court that acquitted two Kuwaitis of trading in hashish and other illicit substances and the possession of unlicensed weapon.

According to the case file, detectives received a tip-off that the first suspect had illicit drugs and other intoxicants for consumption and sale purposes, so they obtained the necessary warrant from the Public Prosecution and went ahead to search his residence and found inside his wardrobe six nylon bags containing suspicious items, in addition to a scale and an unspecified sum suspected to be proceeds from drug sale. He confessed that items found were meant for consumption and sale, adding he got them from another person (supplier).

The officers pursued the second suspect in whose house they discovered four pieces of a suspicious dark substance, five sachets of illicit drugs with ice and scale. They also found four pistols and hunting guns alongside rounds of ammunition. Lawyer En’am Haider in defense of the suspects faulted the process of searching and arresting his clients. In the absence of concrete proofs to bring the defendants to book, the lawyer argued that investigation conducted over the case was not detailed enough.
