The Court of Appeals presided over by Judge Nasser Al Hayd has adjourned to May 24 the appeal filed by the Public Prosecution against the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance which sentenced a Filipina DAESH member to ten-year imprisonment with hard labor, followed by deportation. According to the case file, the suspect was arrested after detectives discovered her alleged membership of the outlawed DAESH group with her plan to perpetrate terrorist acts to destabilize the national security.

The woman had allegedly joined the group through her Somali husband who is fighting alongside other members of the DAESH organizations. This information was gathered from her social media interactions on her laptop.
