The Court of Appeals ordered a Kuwaiti woman to pay rent worth KD 9,000 to her ex-husband since she continued staying in his rented apartment after their divorce without paying the monthly rents.

Her ex-husband filed a lawsuit against her, demanding payment of the due rent. He explained that he, after their divorce, tried to evict her from the apartment but she remained in the apartment and taking advantage of the rent contract which was registered in the name of her ex-husband.

This forced the owner of the real estate to demand the ex-husband to pay the due rent that had accumulated.

Lawyer Zayed Al-Khabbaz, who was representing the plaintiff, disclosed that his client paid due rent worth KD 9,000 demanded by the owner of the real estate, affirming that his client left the apartment and had asked the defendant to leave as well following their divorce but she remained there.
