Court Sentenced An Egyptian Expat To Four-year In Jail For Using Doctor’s Stamp To Help Patient’s Escorts

The Criminal Court sentenced an Egyptian expatriate to four-year imprisonment with hard labor after he was convicted of illegally using stamps of doctors affiliated to Ministry of Health on leave applications of the companions of patients who are sent overseas for treatment, for which he charged KD 200 each application.

According to the case file, when security authorities received information about the incident, investigations were conducted which revealed that the suspect was an employee of the Overseas Medical Treatment Department. When he was transferred few months ago to another department, he used his experience to help companions of patients sent overseas for treatment by facilitating their applications for paid leave.

Meanwhile, the Criminal Court sentenced a supervisor in Ministry of Social Affairs to ten-year imprisonment and dismissal from his position after he was convicted of facilitating the theft of KD 280,000 from the budget of Manpower and Government Restructuring Program, and provide fake employment to Kuwaiti citizens for which he received KD 100 from the labor subsidy of each of these citizens.
