Court Sentenced Iraqi Journalist To 4 Years Imprisonment

An unidentified Iraqi journalist who had been sentenced in absentia to four years imprisonment in Kuwait in a bribery case has been extradited from Egypt. The man was arrested by the Cairo Interpol following a request from its Kuwaiti counterpart and handed over to the Kuwaiti security delegation which had gone to Cairo to bring him back to Kuwait.

According to reliable sources, the Iraqi holds Dutch travel documents in addition to a document which facilitates him to move from one country to another. The suspect reportedly left the country before legal action could be taken against him.
