Spread Of Violence Among Children, Bullying In Schools Raises Concern
The phenomenon of the spread of violence among children is one of the most negative phenomena experienced by our Arab societies and even the world as a result of many cumulative factors that have affected the psyche of our children, as evidenced by the daily occurrence of incidents of violence against children or children who have not reached puberty, reports Al-Anba daily.
Despite the report issued by UNESCO this year under the title ‘Eliminating violence and bullying in schools’, which indicates that many countries have been able to make significant progress in reducing violence in schools, but in the language of numbers and within the statistics collected in the same report, the figures indicate that almost one in three students was harassed by peers or physically abused in general.
The study was conducted in more than 144 countries around the world. Al-Anba met with clinical psychologist Dr Omayma Hamad to learn more about the causes of the spread of this phenomenon among children, who confirmed that the rise in violence in general in Kuwait in particular shows an increase of 1,074 cases in 2018 compared to 2017, among children in particular due to several factors forefront of which comes the electronic games that contribute in one way or another to the high rates of violence among children.
