Criminal Court Acquitted Ex-mp

The Criminal Court acquitted former MP Nasser Al-Duwaili and crew of Scope TV Channel who were accused of insulting the Egyptian regime and army. According to the case file, the Public Prosecution accused Al-Duwaili in line with Article 4 of Law No. 30/1970. Al-Duwaili was accused of making offensive remarks about Egypt during an interview with Scope TV Channel in a manner that could threaten the relations shared between Kuwait and Egypt. Following the interview, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had lodged a complaint against him and the crew of Scope TV Channel, accusing them of threatening the diplomatic relations shared between Kuwait and Egypt.
