Csc Rejects Appointment Of Several Expat Teachers

Contrary to the statements issued by officials of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and Ministry of Education on the appointment of expatriate teachers who were hired locally or outside the country, sources said the CSC rejected the appointment of several of these teachers even if they have educational qualifications because they were engaged in nonteaching professions in the past in Kuwait, reports Al-Jarida daily.

Other educational sources revealed the CSC sent an official letter to the ministry approving the appointment of these teachers and to complete all the necessary procedures. Sources said the CSC has instructed the Ministry of Education to coordinate with its Higher Education counterpart to check the validity of these teachers’ certificates. Sources explained that the procedures for verifying qualifications are usually done in coordination with the cultural officers but the CSC decided to take the aforementioned step.

Sources expect the CSC to contact the Ministry of Education regarding the files of teachers who were hired locally, passed the interviews and completed the contracting procedures to appoint them and fill the gap in some specialties.

On the expatriate teachers recruited from Tunis, Jordan and Palestine; sources from the Education Ministry affirmed that all of these teachers have been accepted, but sources from the CSC said some of the teachers were rejected as they reportedly engaged in non-teaching professions in the past.

Meanwhile, Parliament’s Human Rights Committee will hold a meeting soon to discuss the procedures taken by Central System for Remedying Status of Illegal Residents (CSRSIR) that were agreed upon in the previous meetings, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to a source affiliated to the committee, the discussions will also include the reports issued by the committee which was formed by Ministry of Interior to investigate the issue related to security bonds. He said the Human Rights Committee will continue discussing this file until a solution satisfactory to all parties is reached.
