Csrsir Announced 8,378 Individuals Among Illegal Residents Have Amended Their Status

Central System for Remedying the Status of Illegal Residents (CSRSIR) announced that 8,378 individuals among the illegal residents have amended their status since early 2011 until the end of April 2017. Director of Amendment Department at CSRSIR Colonel Muhammad Al- Waheeb said 5,700 individuals amended their status for the Saudi nationality and 945 adopted the Iraqi nationality, while 820 changed their status to Syrian and 98 to Iranian, 49 to Jordanian, and 766 adopted the nationalities of other countries.

He called on any illegal resident who wants to amend his status to visit the headquarters of CSRSIR in Ardiya area to resolve the issue, as per prevailing laws of the State of Kuwait. He informed on two procedures; status amendment and identification of nationality.

He explained the two procedures are carried out on correct passports after CSRSIR has verified the documents presented in such cases.

He affirmed that the person amending his status and revealing his true nationality will receive privileges offered by government, among immediate free residency under Article No. 24 (self-sponsorship) valid for five years and renewable for all members of his family, in addition to free education, health services, and food supply with ration card for the family.

Al-Waheeb reiterated the State also grants them priority of employment in government sector after Kuwaitis and exempts them from the salary condition while applying for driving license, plus other privileges and exemptions.
