Customs Officers Have Seized A 40-foot Container Cargo Of Used Car Batteries

15 November 2019 Crime News

Shuwaikh Customs officers have seized a 40-foot container cargo of used car batteries which were to be exported to an unidentified Asian country, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Shuwaikh customs officers said an order was issued by the concerned authority to detain the cargo because export of used batteries is a violation of commercial law because it is believed these batteries are recycled and returned to the country as new, which in fact are inefficient and their validity soon perishes.

The sources added that another 40-foot container loaded with pirated winter clothes has been seized. The clothes reportedly carry the names of international brands. The seized cargo will be destroyed.
