Cyber Crime Rate Increased

Cases related to information- technology crimes have increased from 155 annually to nearly 4,000, which is an increase of 166 percent, following the implementation of anti-information technology crimes law, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The study was prepared by the Assistant Professor of Criminal Law in Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences Dr Moaz Al-Mulla. The study revealed that the total number of cases related to information-technology crimes was 2,671 prior to the issuance of the law including 1,212 in 2014 and 1,459 in 2015, adding that this number rose to 3,942 after the law was issued.
