Death Row Kuwaiti Suspect Held

Police arrested a citizen wanted by law as he was sentenced to death in absentia for kidnapping a woman in 2006, reports Al-Anba daily. Investigations revealed the citizen was in Lebanon, so Director General of the Sentences Enforcement General Department at the Ministry of Interior Major General Farraj Al-Zu’bi contacted him and convinced him to return to Kuwait to appeal the sentence. The citizen was nabbed upon arrival at Kuwait International Airport. He was referred to the Central Prison.

Bedoun held: A young Bedoun man, who has been sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment due to his involvement in drug cases, was arrested from a livestock pen in Kabad area. Officers from the Sentences Enforcement Department conducted investigations to track the whereabouts of the fugitive, and eventually found him in a livestock pen in Kabad area. He was referred to the concerned authorities for enforcing the judicial verdict issued against him.
