Dhaman Celebrated The Start Of Construction On The Company's 2nd Hospital Located In Jahra

Health Assurance Hospitals Company (DHAMAN) celebrated the start of construction on the company’s second hospital located in Jahra Governorate, during a groundbreaking ceremony held under the patronage of HE the Minister of Health Dr Basil Homoud Al-Sabah.

In 2017 DHAMAN broke ground on its first hospital located in Ahmadi Governorate and are expecting to complete both hospitals in 2020.

In support of the country’s Vision 2035 to provide world-class healthcare services to a large segment of the population, DHAMAN Hospital is one of Kuwait’s megaprojects geared towards transforming the healthcare sector in the State of Kuwait. The company is currently creating a network of three hospitals offering secondary care geographically spread across Kuwait, the first of which is in Al-Ahmadi and second in Amghara, Jahara which broke ground today.

DHAMAN Hospital in Jahra Governorate will be a five-storey hospital with a built-up area of 87,536 square metres, offering Secondary Healthcare services including a capacity of 300 beds, 13 intensive care units and 11 operating rooms, in addition to trauma and rehab centers, diagnostic centers, delivery rooms, and accident and emergency services.

Notable attendees of the ceremony included officials from the Ministry of Health, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China First Secretary Zeyachen, DHAMAN board members, Arabi Holding board members, and officials from the General-Secretariat of The Supreme Council for Planning and Development, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, and the Metallurgical Corporation of China (MCC). Operating in Kuwait since 1980 with numerous successful projects under its belt, MCC will design, construct, and deliver operational maintenance of the hospital.

The company is one of the largest worldwide contributing to the construction of modern China. HE the Minister of Health Dr Basil Homoud Al-Sabah said: “During this ceremony I would like to emphasize the Ministry of Health’s full support towards the development of the healthcare system under the Public- Private Partnership agreement to provide comprehensive healthcare coverage through 3 hospitals and primary healthcare centres covering all areas across Kuwait.

“The Ministry is keen about cooperating and coordinating with the company to provide outstanding healthcare. DHAMAN’s projects will also positively affect and ease the pressure at Ministry of Health facilities and reduce the congestion experienced by citizens and residents receiving healthcare. “DHAMAN Hospital in Al-Jahra will serve a wide range of expatriates and is equipped with various medical specialities. The latest technologies and specifications have been taken into consideration as part of the overall development of the healthcare sector, and with the cooperation and support of DHAMAN we will continue to implement this system. The Ministry are looking at major health projects to be carried out to make a qualitative shift in the industry.” Dr Ahmad Mohammed Al-Saleh, DHAMAN CEO and Board Member said: “DHAMAN is steadily working towards executing its projects and achieving its vision as part of the country’s development plan. The groundbreaking ceremony of DHAMAN’s second hospital in Al- Jahra Governorate coincides with the preparatory works of DHAMAN’s Primary Healthcare Centres in Farwaniya, Hawally, and Dajeej which are expected to start welcoming patients soon. This includes the implementation and transfer of residents from the current Ministry of Health’s facilities to DHAMAN.
