Director Of Marine Transport Affirmed That Expats Can Register Boat Or Jet Ski In Their Names
Director of Marine Transport Jamal Al-Kanderi affirmed that expatriates can register boat and jet ski under their names provided they have valid residence and satisfy all conditions set for such acquisition with payment of necessary fees, reports Al-Rai daily.
Al-Kanderi pointed out there are rules and regulations for using boats and jet ski according to law number 46/97. He cited some of the conditions as registering the boat or jet ski in the Marine Transport Department at the State Ministry for Services by presenting necessary documents such as the ownership, insurance and customs papers with valid civil ID card of the owner.
Before the equipment can be put into use, there is a condition that the sea must be verified and ensure availability of requirements for safety and security to protect lives. The owner will pay KD16 to issue ownership verification certificate and KD6 for renewal of the document.
The rider of the boat or jet ski should not be less that 18 years old, should be good in swimming, wear safety jacket, move slowly from the point of take off for about 200 meters to the coast and abide by the point of take off indicated thereof.
