Disciplinary Measures Put In Place By Concerned Authorities Have Been Fruitful
Low record of cheating was witnessed on the second day of exams compared to the first day, as male and female students in the elementary, middle and secondary grades — excluding the twelfth grade continued their exams on Monday, reports Al-Qabas daily.
“There were indications that disciplinary measures put in place by concerned authorities have been fruitful,” says acting Undersecretary and Assistant Undersecretary for Education Development and Activities Faisal Al-Meqsid. This indicates the fear of being prevented from writing other exams led to the drastic reduction in the number of students apprehended for cheating, he noted.
Al-Meqsid declared the new regulation on cheating was instituted in line with the plan instituted by Ministry of Education, in coordination with concerned authorities and approval of educators to curb the ugly phenomenon.
Reiterated
He reiterated the rate of cheating has dropped to normal and the situation is under control with smooth fl ow of activities as planned. He affirmed that everything was calm within the first two days due to the well-studied plan laid down and carefully executed by the ministry, especially with strong coordination among the six educational areas and heads of exams centers in that regard. He continued, “We have noticed positive cooperation on the part of teachers and educators as regards preparations for the exam this year.
The ministry was fully prepared for the exams and nothing is left to chance concerning the forthcoming twelfth grade exams. We hope that the relative calm and stability will be sustained throughout the period of final exams.” Meanwhile, Ministry of Education has requested for the disbursement of location allowances to engineers and assistant engineers in the ministry, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to sources, the location allowances for the deserving employees, who were transferred to certain locations during their duty in the month of April, will range from KD 25 to KD 600. In this regard, Director of Human Resources Department in Ministry of Education Saoud Al-Juwaiser clarified that these allowances will be classified in general as follows — KD 200 to senior specialist engineers, KD 100 to engineers and junior engineers, and KD 150 to the first and second supervisors.
