Egyptian Admits Killing Of The Saudi Woman And Her Kuwaiti Daughter Mystery Deepens As Son Rejects Death Of Close Relatives
The ‘murder’ of the Saudi woman and her Kuwaiti daughter remains a mystery as new details which have emerged to tell in detail the tale of the two women whose bodies were reportedly fished out from a deep well from a desert in Upper Egypt.
The Al-Shahed daily said the brother of the victim refuses to believe his sister and mother have been murdered who went missing more than a month ago and were reportedly kidnapped.
Rashid Al-Khamis (the victim’s brother) refuses to believe that his loved ones live no more. He simply puts it as rumors and confessions from ‘someone’ during investigation. He affirmed when the Kuwaiti Ambassador in Egypt contacted the Egyptian security authorities, he received a word that the concerned authorities were still in the hunt for the ‘missing’ women.
Meanwhile, the Annahar daily quoting the Director of Criminal Investigation Department of the Minya governorate Major- General Mahmoud Afifi said the killer of the two women has been arrested. Afifi told the daily the security authorities exerted tremendous efforts to arrest the suspect who allegedly owns a farm in a village in Minya. He reportedly killed the two women, dumped them in an abandoned well and escaped from the scene.
According to Afifi the 55-year-old Saudi mother of the 27-year-old Kuwaiti woman, identified only as H.A., is a divorcee. He also said police picked the two bodies from the well and referred the remains to Forensics for an autopsy to identify the cause of their deaths. He pointed out the Criminal Investigation Department has identified the killer as AbdulTawab from Al-Qusiya center in Assiut governorate.
According to investigations, when the victims arrived at the Cairo International Airport, they were received by the suspect’s brotherin- law. He took their baggage to the house of the suspect, AbdulTawab.
AbdulTawab drove the two victims straight to his farm and killed them, the motive for which remains a mystery according a statement given by Major-General Afifi. Afifi also said it is AbdulTawab who lured the Saudi woman to visit Egypt toInvest in real estate.
The Al-Rai daily also said the Egyptian police have taken into custody the 49-year-old murderer of the two women, his 32-year-old wife Hana’a AbdulFattah Hashim and her three brothers — Sayed 47, Ali 31 and Mohammed 30 — for complicity in the murder.
According to judicial sources AbdulTawab and his wife Hana’a during investigations have admitted to committing the crime. They confessed that they knew the Saudi victim when AbdulTawab was working in Saudi Arabia under the sponsorship of the former.
The main suspect said he convinced the Saudi woman to visit Cairo to purchase a piece of land and a house in Cairo after he saw a lot of Money with the two women. He reportedly hosted the two women in his home and received about 200,000 Egyptian pounds to buy a house for them and instead bought six acres of farm from his brothersin- law in the mountainous region of Al- Khareejin village No 4 in the Samalot Center.
The suspect said he killed the two victims with the help of his wife and after dumping their corpses in the 20-meter-deep well, he filled the well with sand to hide his crime. He also said he bought the land where the well is situated to prevent anyone entering his private property. In the same context, reliable sources said the murder came to light when the brothers were involved in a fight with their sister (the suspect’s wife) to know how her husband had become rich overnight. It is then she told her brothers the truth and that the women lay buried under the sand in the well. The brothers also kept mum and did not inform the police.
According to investigations, the wife of the suspect re-enacted the crime and guided police to where the 400,000 Egyptian pounds were hidden. She also said she helped her husband commit the crime. The sources said the police did not immediately arrest the suspect but word was spread within security circles to keep an eye on the suspects to find out if more people were involved in the crime.
The suspect was put under surveillance and was taken into custody when he was seen loitering near the scene of the murder and referred for investigation. According to reliable Egyptian security sources police are still looking for more suspects. The brothers-in-law of the main suspect have been charged with culpable homicide.
The Egyptian judicial sources said the main suspect has admitted to shooting to death the two women. The Forensics department has also said the DNA samples of the brother matches with that of the Kuwaiti victim. When the daily asked why the Egyptian security authorities had denied the existence of the two victims in Egypt, the security sources said, there were suspicions at the beginning that the crime was committed by a terror group to embarrass Egypt in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Sources pointed out the Egyptian authorities were in constant touch with the concerned Kuwaiti authorities from the time of receiving the calls and photos sent by the Saudi victim via her cell phones which helped in determining the place of crime
