Egyptian Expat And Jordanian Were Arrested By Officers From The Cid For Running Fake Travel Agency

11 April 2017 Crime News

An Egyptian expatriate and a Jordanian were arrested by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department for duping expatriates and citizens. The duo who claimed to be representatives of a travel and tour agency cheated their victims after convincing them of winning prizes to stay in luxury hotels.

A security source said officers at the Criminal Investigation Department received a complaint about an Egyptian and a Jordanian who swindled citizens and expatriates after making them believe they won prizes to stay in luxury hotels on discount. One citizen said the two suspects convinced him to sign a contract of KD 160 at the premises of the travel and tour agency for free plane ticket and lodging in a hotel. The citizen filed a complaint with the Hawalli Criminal Investigation Department when the suspects failed to implement items of the contract.

They were arrested while trying to swindle their next victim. Apparently, the owner of the agency does not know about the activities of the two suspects. They have since been referred to the Public Prosecution.
