Election Candidate Offers 1500 Iphones To Women Voters

A Kuwaiti candidate running in the 4th constituency is planning to distribute hundreds of cellphones to women in a bid to lure them into voting in his favour in the upcoming legislative elections. The man made headlines when he purchased 1500 iPhones as gifts for women who would attend his campaign meetings in the coming days.

The unprecedented move sparked mixed reactions as some dismissed the valuable gifts as "bribes" which violate electoral fair competitions while others described it as a "positive and legitimate initiative". Candidates have resorted to similar tactics in previous elections, by offering perfumes and makeup to female voters.
