Expats Retirement Age To Be 60 Years

05 February 2017 Kuwait

Civil Service Commission (CSC) is planning to issue a decision to refer expatriate employees of public sector for retirement after they reach 60 years of age, reports Arab Times daily quoting top sources from CSC.

They explained that this decision will present job opportunities for citizens who are waiting for employment. It will cover all ministries and state institutions. Training programs will be held for candidates who will occupy the positions vacated by expatriates following the decision.

The sources stressed that the decision is not directed against any specific nationality but will cover all expatriates despite their nationality. They said the decision will not be enforced immediately but will take into consideration the situation of expatriates who served the country for many years, revealing that they will be given a change to manage their affairs to either return to their country or search for a new job, and those with children in their final academic year will also be shown consideration. The sources affirmed that CSC’s decision will not be implemented without the approval of the Cabinet.
