Files Of Patients In Mental Health Center Reach 60,000
Head of Kuwait Center for Mental Health Dr Nayef Al-Harbi revealed that the number of patients’ files in the center has reached almost 60,000, and this includes about 35,000 active files, reports Al- Rai daily.
In a press statement issued on the sidelines of celebration of World Day for Mental Health, Dr Al-Harbi affirmed that the center depends 100 percent on the esystem both in the outpatient and casualty units.
To add to this, Consultant of Pediatrics and Child Psychology at Ministry of Health Dr Bibi Al-Omairi declared that the center receives more than 87,000 visitors in one year. She said 87,122 patients visited the center during the period from October 2017 to October 2018, which included 66,855 Kuwaitis and 20,267 non-Kuwaitis.
Meanwhile, Consultant of Cancer Surgeries at Royale Hayat Hospital Dr Noha Al-Saleh says the most common type of breast cancer is the appearance of tumors in the nipple or in the breast, accompanied with change in shape or color of nipple or breast, and secretion of blood or yellow pus, reports Al-Rai daily.
In an interview with the daily, she denied that breast cancer is caused by mammogram examination, insisting that this fact is untrue and has unscientific basis. Dr Al-Saleh said, “When the size of the tumor exceeds two centimeters, we advise the patient about the need to take a sample of the tumor for testing”
