Food And Market Inspectors Destroyed 25 Kgs Of Rotten Fish
Food and market inspectors from the Department of Inspection and Follow-up of Municipal Services at Capital Governorate issued 15 citations and confiscated and destroyed 25 kgs of fish during an inspection campaign they organized in Mubarakiya and Mirqab areas particularly in warehouses, butcheries and souks, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Director of the department at Capital Governorate Eng. Ammar Al-Ammar affirmed that such campaigns, which are based on directives from the Director General of Kuwait Municipality Eng. Ahmad Al-Manfouhi, will continue in order to ensure the food items sold to consumers are suitable for human consumption. Director of Inspection and Followup Eman Al-Kandari also affirmed that such campaigns will continue during and after official working hours to prevent the intentions of those who seek to mess with the health of consumers. She explained that the recent campaign began after Maghreb prayers and lasted for three hours. The inspectors issued 15 citations for various violations such as trading without health license, employment of staff without health certificates and lack of general hygiene. They also confiscated and destroyed 25 kgs of fish.
