Disaster averted in Jleeb fire

Firemen from the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Al-Ardhiya and Mishref rushed to an Arab house in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and put out fire, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the firemen were at the site within five minutes after receiving the call and put out the fire to the house, which had been turned into garages, warehouse and workers’ accommodation without causing any injuries to anyone.

The sources said firemen had to be very cautious while putting out the fire because in the store there were old and new tires, oils, acetylene gas, and a large number of cooking gas cylinders and extremely hot weather and smoke density as a result of which the firefighters were forced to remove some of the prefabricated roof to allow ventilation and reduce heat. Sources added, the Fire Investigation Department has opened an investigation into the fire and the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) is expected to take strict measures against the violators in cooperation with the concerned authorities to prevent the use of private housing for any purpose which poses high risk.
