Girls High School Students Punished For Not Returning Computer Tablets To The School
Several parents of girls high school students have complained to the concerned authorities about the action taken by the school manager to mark the students absent for the entire day if they fail to hand over the computer tablets to the school authorities, reports Al-Rai daily.
These tablets were given to the students by the schools and now they are requested to return them. However, if the students fail to return them on time they will be marked absent for the number of days they delay in returning these tablets, which the parents say will affect the grades of their children, since absenteeism is linked to grades.
The director of the Ahmadi Educational Directorate Walid Al-Awami said the parents must submit a written complaint to the Office of the Director-General.
Meanwhile, an educational source stressed that such decisions affect the grades of students in this school year while they need support, calling for other measures to be taken to deal with the issue. According to the students some of the letters on keyboards are missing although they are in their original packing and have never been used and needs time to get the same fixed.
