Gtd Released Statistical Report On Motorists Using Mobile Phones While Driving

The General Traffic Department (GTD) in the Interior Ministry released its 2016 statistical report on motorists using mobile phones by hand while driving.

According to the department, the number of direct violations in relation to the use of mobile phones by hand while driving recorded last year totaled 40,153 whereas the indirect violations reached 11,772.

While indicating that the GCC Traffic Week this year focused on the dangers of using mobile phones by hand while driving, the department called on everyone to strictly comply with traffic rules and cooperate with traffic officers to ensure the safety on the roads.
