H.h Amir To Chair Extraordinary Meeting

National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem announced that he has received an invitation to attend an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers tomorrow under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and expressed his expectations for the passing of important decisions during this meeting.

Al-Ghanem added in a statement to reporters that this matter is not surprising as H.H. the Amir has always presided over cabinet meetings in exceptional and important events. He added that the meeting will involve His Highness the Crown Prince, Speaker of the National Assembly and members of the government to listen to His Highness’s directives.

On the other hand, Al-Ghanem clarified that the Tuesday session is dedicated to discussing and voting on urgent laws related to confronting the coronavirus threat and postponing the other items by consensus between MPs.

With regards to the curfew, Al-Ghanem clarified that such decisions are issued by the competent authorities that respect and apply their instructions and recommendations. He added there is no concern with evaluating them, but at the beginning, everyone should cooperate and adhere to the precautionary measures in the interest of everyone.
