Indian Ambassador Hailed Deep-rooted Relations With Kuwait

 Ambassador of India to Kuwait H.E. Jeeva Sagar hailed the deep-rooted relations between Kuwait and his country that have been longstanding throughout a history filled with pages of constructive cooperation to the point that the two countries share genuine friendly relations whereby both parties are keen to provide the best for each other, reports Al-Anba daily.

He said this on the sidelines of a ceremony held Wednesday by the Indian Embassy on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of India’s independence in the presence of several members of the Indian community, which comprises of about one million people in Kuwait. Ambassador Sagar expressed his happiness to be in Kuwait, revealing that he has experienced nothing but warm welcome and cooperation from everyone in Kuwait.

He explained that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries is enhancing. India’s imports from Kuwait are valued at around $6 billion a year, mostly petroleum products and some other products. On the other hand, Kuwait’s imports from India is $2 billion, mostly various food items and other commodities.

Ambassador Sagar indicated that there are no restrictions on the recruitment of workers in general including domestic workers from India to Kuwait. He affirmed that the Indian embassy is always ready to overcome all obstacles through government sanctioned channels adopted by both countries to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and guarantee the rights of workers as well as those of employers.
