Information Ministry Revokes Al-kout Tv Licence

The Ministry of Information has revoked the licence of Al-Kout Satellite TV Channel due to the indictment of one of its owners in connection with a terror-linked case.

The Kuwaiti Court of Cassation upheld a verdict convicting Al-Kout co-owner of belonging to the pro-Iran and Hizbollah “Al-Abdalli” terrorist cell and sentencing him to prison.

Information Ministry Assistant Undersecretary Khalid Al-Rashidi announced the measure in line with the Kuwaiti law on audio visual media.  

Under the Court of Cassation ruling 901 of 2016, the convicted associate owner loses his eligibility to hold the licence.
