Investor Caught Bribing

Personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department have arrested a man, identified only as P, an investor in electronic games for children, for attempting to bribe the treasurer of a cooperative society in the Mubarak Al-Kabir Governorate. The bribery process was documented by an audio- visual device, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to a security source, the treasurer of one of the cooperative societies informed the personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department that the suspect offered him KD 2,000 for facilitating some matters related to the investment contract with the branch of the cooperative. The source added the treasurer agreed to the deal and the detectives placed sound and surveillance cameras in his office to document the incident. The source said the investors was caught in the act and later during interrogation admitted to the crime. He has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
