About 90 percent of jubilant youths celebrating the New Year consumed alcohol and illicit drugs between dusk and dawn of Jan 1.
Knowledgeable sources said thousands of parties were held in the chalets, campsites, livestock pens, farms, and apartments and secret locations because of the winter, noting an estimated KD 3 million was spent during these parties, as a bottle of booze ranges from KD 150 (regular) to KD 300 (super and deluxe).
With regard to drugs, small piece of hashish is sold for KD 100, while heroin and cocaine exceeds KD 300, besides meals from famous restaurants and buffets.
