A Number Of Educational Areas Have Warned Of The Lack Of Teachers In Some Specialties Next Year
A number of educational areas have warned of the lack of teachers in some specialties next year if the ministry does not take care to increase the number of cadres to be contracted locally and abroad during the next stage, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting education sources.
The sources said many expatriate teachers in some educational areas have resigned in recent days in various disciplines, especially science, physics, chemistry, in addition to English and computer.
They pointed out that a majority of requests for resignations were received from the Jordanian, Egyptian and Tunisian teachers working in the intermediate and secondary stages.
No reasons were given for the resignations but after inquiring about the reason, the authorities realized that most of them were hired to work by the Ministry of Education of one of the Gulf States starting next school year.
Another group of expatriate teachers last week applied for a special three-day leave to attend interviews in the Gulf state after submitting their applications to work there, but have yet to resign pending the outcome of the interviews, they said.
Director General of the Public Authority for Industry (PAI) Abdulkareem Taqqi issued a decision to close five industrial establishments found to have committed irregularities, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.
Sources said the closed establishments are located in Subhan, Sulaibiya and Mina Abdullah; indicating the irregularities uncovered include unjustified suspension of work, not engaging in the licensed activities, using the establishments as storage for raw materials and leasing them to others.
Sources added PAI called for harsher penalty if the violation is not addressed one month after the date of closure.
