Kuwait Airport Is Currently Experiencing Heavy Congestion

 Kuwait International Airport is currently experiencing heavy congestion in both arrival and departure zones as most of the people who spent their summer vacation outside the country are returning. The airport personnel are under immense pressure due to the huge number of passengers, reports Al-Anba daily. D

irector of Operations at Kuwait International Airport Saleh Al-Foudaghi revealed that more than 122,259 passengers returned to the country between Aug 29 and Sept 2, adding that most of them came from Dubai, Turkey, Egypt, Mashhad, Alexandria, London, Sharm El-Sheikh and Frankfurt. He also revealed that many of the passengers are teachers for the new academic year.

He indicated that the Civil Aviation Department had formed a support team which helps in ensuring the airport runs smoothly especially during the high travel seasons, and to provide guidelines and assistances to the passengers until they board their planes or exit the airport building.

Concerning problems faced by the airport personnel, Al-Foudaghi said many of the returning passengers failed to adhere to the instructions set by the General Directorate for Civil Aviation such as smoking, holding insufficient travel documents and possessing illicit items as well as prolonged luggage search.
