Amir Congratulated Kuwaiti Citizens And Residents On The Advent Of The Holy Month Of Ramadan
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah congratulated Kuwaiti citizens and residents on the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Amiri Diwan said on Saturday. His Highness the Amir, along with His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Al-Sabah family, will hold a reception for Ramadan wellwishers from the army, National Guard (KNG), Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) and diplomats on the first two days of the Holy Month at Bayan Palace, the Amiri Diwan added.
The Amiri Diwan noted that His Highness the Amir expressed his regret for not receiving citizens and residents well-wishers this year. The Amiri Diwan extended wishes of prosperity for the leadership and people of Kuwait, wishing all many happy returns of this joyous occasion. Kuwait’s Moonsighting Committee has announced that Sunday will be the last day of the lunar month of Sha’baan and that therefore the holy fasting month of Ramadan will start on Monday.
Ramadan’s crescent has not been sighted today (Saturday), so tomorrow (Sunday) will be the last day of Sha’baan, Chairman of the Moonsighting Committee Justice Yousef Al-Mutawaa stated after the committee meeting Saturday evening. Consequently, Ramadan of the Hijri or Islamic calendar of 1440 will commence on Monday, May 6, he pointed out.
