The Criminal Court acquitted a Kuwaiti citizen who was accused of fraud and swindling KD 49,000 from an Iraqi national by introducing the latter to a bogus partnership trading project on the condition that he would pay the debt owed by the suspect.

The suspect was accused of tricking the victim to ensure he released the money in his possession with the intention of partnering in a business project after paying the loan that the former owed a local bank. The victim obliged to the proposal and paid the loan.

However, the defense counsel Lawyer Zaid Al-Khabbaz denied allegations against his client, stressing that the documents presented were insufficient to prove the allegations.
