A senior governmental official revealed to a number of MPs that the government will not be able to pass the draft law on standardizing prices for domestic labor, as it is facing difficulty in obtaining the approval of the Parliament for the bill to standardize the prices of some services, reports Al-Anba daily.

Meanwhile, informed sources said the Cabinet is committed to the relevant laws when it makes a decision on the dismissed tenders as well as the tenders about which the Cabinet received complaints.

The sources explained that the complaints are discussed by a fivemember committee formed by the Cabinet. The members include law experts, financial experts and technical experts. The members of the committee are changed every three years. There are specific regulations for accepting the complaints. Besides discussing the complaints, the committee also recommends relevant correctional procedures. It then informs the Head of Central Agency for Public Tenders about its decision within seven days from the issuance. The executive decree includes organizing procedures related to filing the complaints.

Regarding the priorities of the Cabinet, the sources said the Cabinet is following up the citizens’ underwriting concerning the first Al-Zour company. They affirmed the keenness of the Cabinet to bring an end to the obstacles facing the housing projects such as South Sa’ad Al-Abdullah City for which the Cabinet has given a two-week deadline for all relevant bodies to remove the obstacles. The two-week deadline issued during the Cabinet’s session on Feb 20.
