Director General of Public Relations and Security Media Information Brigadier-General Tawheed Al-Kandari said a strategy set by the senior leadership of the security institution is clear and specific, reports Al-Anba daily.
Those who are caught breaking the fast publicly during the day shall be punished either by month imprisonment and paying KD 100 on fine or either one of the penalties. He explained measures that have taken to keep under control different areas and the distribution of traffic patrols who will operate using vans, stationed in certain areas and some will be constantly on the move in the vicinity of markets and commercial complexes and roads, in addition to the use of human and mechanical reinforcements in all provinces to address any phenomenon that does not respect the feelings of fasting Muslims or values and customs associated with this holy month.
He added there is also a media campaign through the various means of communication and also through various social media, in order to educate citizens and residents to eliminate the phenomenon of begging – people who exploit the generosity of the people especially who receive money in illegal ways in the atmosphere of faith during the month of Ramadan.
This campaign comes in conjunction with the ongoing security campaigns in coordination and cooperation with the concerned authorities which monitor and control these beggars in all governorates and mosques squares and residential areas and in front of citizens’ homes.
