Kuwait Optimistic Over Gcc Summit Outcome

A top Kuwait government official voiced optimism over the outcome of the 40th GCC Summit which will be held on Tuesday (December 10) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“The summit is a positive sign that the end of the crisis that hit the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) is nearing,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Khalid Al Jarallah in a statement to Kuwaiti Al Jarida newspaper.

He said the foreign ministers’ meeting which would be held on the eve of the summit will discuss the nomination of former Kuwait finance minister Dr Nayef Al Hajraf as new GCC Secretary General.

The nomination of Dr Al Hajraf will also be on the agenda of the GCC leaders’ summit on Tuesday.
