Kuwait's participation in the International Labor Organization (ILO) conference is a testament to the country's support of laborers, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Planning and Development Hind Al-Sabeeh said on Sunday.

In a statement Al-Sabeeh noted that Kuwait would present to the ILO, a chronicle of the country's accomplishments in various fields germane to labor rights. She also pointed to strenuous efforts exerted by Kuwait to stave off human trafficking and other forms of labor exploitation.

Meanwhile, in comments to KUNA, Kuwait's permanent envoy to the United Nations (UN) and International Organizations Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghunaim said that this year's ILO conference will focus on a myriad of labor issues, including ways to cope with humanitarian crises and disasters.

Al-Ghunaim also revealed that the conference will tackle strategies to overcome rampant poverty in the world, noting that Kuwait is a prominent contributor to the ILO.
