Kuwait Tops In Terms Of Teacher And Students Ratio Which Shows That There Is One Teacher For Every 7.8 Students
Kuwait tops in terms of teacher and students ratio which shows that there is one teacher for every 7.8 students, according to an international report that points to big fictitious employment and a 100% surplus compared to the average teacher for every 15 students in North America, between 12 and 15 in Europe and Central Asia (the difference is between primary and secondary schools), and between 16 and 18 in East Asia and the Pacific, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Compared with the Middle East and North Africa regions, the regional average is more than double the Kuwaiti average, ranging from 14 to 19, and in Latin America and the Caribbean it is one teacher for every 22.17 students, in South Asia it is 26-36 and 25-42 in sub-Saharan Africa.
Follow-up sources stressed that the large number of teachers in Kuwait should have supposedly acquired good results if not excellent, but the reality is otherwise. The number of teachers is supposed to control classes more, but student violence in Kuwait is achieving high records.
The sources pointed out that some teachers in Kuwait are fake, or rather result of ‘disguised employment’ policies, as in most State ministries.
