Kuwait Will Establish 6 Solar Power Stations With Expected Capacity Of 5,000mw

The government will establish six solar power stations with expected capacity of 5,000MW with the aim of reducing the usage of gas and fuel.

They said the project is also aimed to manage the subsidy on oil and exporting gas, indicating that a final decision on the operational process of these stations have not been taken but it will be done so with the cooperation of the private sector.


The sources revealed that the total cost of the project is expected to be $1.5 billion, adding that the time duration of the solar stations’ project was supposed to be ten years but it has been reduced to five years due to the low oil prices.
