Kuwait Will Soon Witness A Number Of Largescale Projects
Kuwait will soon witness a number of largescale projects that will push forward its 2035 vision of a highly diverse and sustainable economy, said an official on Tuesday.
The remarks by the Director General of Kuwait’s Environment Public Authority Sheikh Abdullah Ahmad Al-Sabah came on the sidelines of a career fair and expo targeting local engineers. The gathering, attended by representatives of Kuwait Society of Engineers (KES), highlights the urgent need to develop human capital, which is an integral component of the economy, he said.
On the event, he said it was an opportunity for Kuwait’s public and private sectors to join forces in a bid to create more job opportunities, particularly for fresh graduates. KES has formed a plan to entice more Kuwaiti engineers into joining the private sector in effort to ease congestion in public bodies, according to the society’s secretary Fahad Al-Otaibi.
He sensed a “yearning” on the private sector’s part to pick up more engineering majors, which bodes well for Kuwait’s 2035 vision, which largely hinges on the completion of marquee projects. On the need for reforms to Kuwait’s labor market, the deputy director general of the Public Authority for Manpower Iman Al-Ansari revealed that the state-run body has also taken measures to ensure that the private sector gets it fair share of recruits.
Meanwhile, Minister of Health Sheikh Dr Bassel Humoud Al-Sabah affirmed on Tuesday Kuwait’s commitment toward full healthcare as envisaged in the global sustainable development 2030. Leaders of the world states have pledged to abide by attaining such a goal according to the UN General Assembly’s Resolution 1/70, issued in September 2015, said the Kuwaiti minister, during a senior-level meeting on full subsidy for health care, held on sidelines of the UNGA 74th assembly. He has indicated that work plans and practical schemes have been worked out as among priorities of the Kuwaiti development plan and Kuwait Vision 2035 strategy.
Kuwait has ranked top among Middle Eastern countries with respect of comprehensive healthcare coverage, he confirms. Kuwait Vision envisions a large number of ventures with respect to ensuring “everybody’s” right to well accommodated living, in harmony with the third goal of the international sustainable development approach.
The Kuwaiti delegation to the UNGA session is headed by the Representative of His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
