Kuwaiti Employees In Private Sector To Pay Kd 60 For Work Permit

The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) has specified the fees for registration of Kuwaiti employees in the private sector under the Fifth Chapter to obtain a work permit for the first time — KD 60 per year and KD 70 per two years, reports Al-Anba daily.

The decision stipulates that citizens working in the private sector should pay the work permit fee through K-Net only.

They are also required to submit documents such as the application for work permit endorsed by the concerned department, copies of commercial license, smart civil ID, authorized signature, highest academic certificate, and letter of inspection from the National Laborers Supervision.

The authority stressed that no private sector workers subsidy will be paid to citizens unless they go through the registration process and obtain a work permit.

Meanwhile, Kuwait Municipality has refused to hand over the Abu Halifa Park to the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW), which intends to use the land for new housing projects, reports Al-Anba daily. Minister of Public Works and State Minister for Municipality Affairs Eng Hossam Al-Roumi explained the Municipality took this decision for various reasons. He said one of these reasons is the land being part of the structural layout issued through an Amiri decree, which prohibits changing usage of such land and mandates preservation of gardens and parks.

In response to the query of MP Dr Mohammad Al-Huwailah, Al-Roumi pointed out the transformation of Abu Halifa Park into housing plots will lead to a number of problems like increasing the electrical load, pressure on water and drainage networks, and traffic jam.
