Kuwaiti’s Masters Degree Reinstated

18 October 2019 Crime News

The Administration Court cancelled the decision of Minister of Education to revoke the masters degree scholarship of a Kuwaiti employee of the ministry, and all subsequent effects of the decision.

It obligated the ministry to modify the status of the plaintiff to match the qualification he obtained. Lawyer Jarrah Al-Enezi, who filed the lawsuit on the behalf of the citizen against the minister’s decision, explained that the minister revoked his client’s scholarship under the excuse that the period granted to his client to complete his higher studies ended prior to the completion of the studies.

The minister took the decision under the claim that his client was not serious enough to take up the scholarship. Lawyer Al-Enezi clarified that his client requested suspension of the scholarship for one year due to some personal circumstances and also requested change of the country for the scholarship; however he was shocked to discover the cancellation of his scholarship.

Lawyer Al-Enezi stressed that his client did not violate the scholarship decree, and the relevant administration did not receive any reports about his client’s inability to complete his studies under the scholarship.
