Lipo Surgery Killed A Kuwait Youth

 Just days after the death of Kuwaiti citizen Saud Al- Azmi at Jahra Hospital due to a medical error, another Kuwaiti citizen died Wednesday in Mubarak Al- Kabeer Hospital after undergoing liposuction 15 days ago, reports Al-Seyassah daily.Informed sources explained that the Kuwaiti youth Abdullah Al-Amer died in the hospital 15 days after the surgery, which was carried out by an experienced consultant surgeon.

Based on suspicions of a medical mistake committed by him during the surgery, the hospital administration had referred the surgeon for investigations immediately after the surgery. Preliminary investigations revealed that the surgeon had cut one of the arteries by mistake during the operation but managed to handle the situation and the patient had recovered. However, after the latter was taken to the ward, his health began to deteriorate and he eventually died in the Intensive Care Unit.

The sources disclosed that the surgeon is still on duty in the hospital because the investigations are ongoing, affirming that he has performed hundreds of successful surgeries and this could possibly be the first time he is committing such a medical error.

They indicated that the next few days will be the hardest and darkest in the history of Ministry of Health with the two open cases of deaths caused by medical errors and the absconding doctor who is responsible for one of the deaths but had managed to exit the country.
