Mgrp Filed 270 Lawsuits In The First Half Of The Current Year Against Registered Members Who Received Financial Aid Unlawfully
The Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP) filed 270 lawsuits in the first half of the current year against registered members who received financial aid unlawfully, reports Al-Rai daily quoting Secretary General of MGRP Fauzi Al-Mijdali. Al-Mijdali made the statement when he visited students working during summer in several companies and establishments at Avenues Mall. He disclosed MGRP is currently updating and auditing disbursement of financial aid to locals working in the private sector.
He affirmed that through continuous follow-up, MGRP discovered those receiving aid although they don’t deserve it; thereby, violating rules in this regard. He added those who received aid illegally have agreed to return the money, apart from 270 individuals who have yet to return the money so MGRP sued them. He added 219 cases are in lower courts, 28 in the Court of Appeals and 23 in the Court of Cassation; indicating 20 final rulings have been issued so far – two against the program and the remaining in favor of it.
Talking about the summer job program for students, Al-Mijdali expressed his appreciation and gratitude to those who contributed to the successful launching of the 14th Summer Training Program for Students, in which 1,266 students are participating. This is in partnership with the private sector which accepted 825 students who fulfilled the conditions and are now working in various commercial sectors like banks, communication, investment, insurance, retail, legal, health, entertainment, industry, oil, NGOs and cooperative societies among others.
During his visit, Al-Mijdali addressed the students participating in the summer program. He urged them to seize the opportunity to gain experience with the objective of improving their creativity and abilities in a manner that will contribute to the development of various economic projects in order to achieve the goal of MGRP to encourage graduates to work in the private sector.
