Ministry Instructed That, Check Files Of All Those Who Obtained Citizenship In Last 15 Yrs

Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passport Affairs in the Interior Ministry Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah has instructed the Investigation Sector to thoroughly check files of all those who obtained citizenship in the last 15 years, especially those who were naturalized in 2007. Al-Jarrah pointed out the directive is firm particularly in its call to refrain from providing cover to those who obtained their citizenship illegally. He warned that legal measures will be taken against anyone proven to have violated the law on obtaining citizenship considering this is a matter of sovereignty and those who hold the Kuwaiti citizenship are given exceptional privileges.
