Ministry Of Commerce And Industry Sells Used Tires To 3 Foreign Companies

19 December 2015 Kuwait

Ministry of Commerce and Industry had signed contracts with three international companies to purchase the accumulating used tires in Kuwait for less than one US dollar per piece, local daily Al Rai reported. Daily, quoting Chairman of the Municipal Council,

Mehalhel Al-Khaled, reported that Kuwait Municipality had previously contracted two local companies through public tender including 38 other companies and that they failed to handle the used tires problem.

“The international companies promised to get rid of the used tires in a short time,” he explained. “This agreement saves the State considerable sum of money that is used to be moving the tires from one spot to another,” Al-Khaled explained.

He urged local companies to learn from the international companies on how to deal with the problems and how to recycle tires because more and more of them would accumulate again shortly.
