Ministry To Deal With Citizenship Documents Linked To Forgery
The Ministry of Interior (MOI) supports all efforts to deal with citizenship and travel documents linked to forgery, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said on Thursday. On a visit to the General Department of Citizenship and Travel Documents, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled highlighted the need to make sure that all procedures in that department run smoothly and efficiently, a press statement by MOI said.
Moreover, the Interior Minister underscored that all citizens should be served in a way to ensure their convenience, adding that all procedures should be simplified and completed in a timely manner. Meanwhile, Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passport Affairs Sheikh General Mazen Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah noted that the department strives to complete all procedures in the most productive way possible.
The department’s General Manager, Yousef Al-Senayyen offered an explanation on the various steps needed to issue travel documents, adding that summer travel season usually heralds an influx of visitors to the department.
The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has allowed all officially recognized Hajj caravans in the country to register seven foreigners to perform the annual pilgrimage in the coming Hajj season, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources. Sources confirmed the ministry is currently coordinating with its foreign and interior counterparts to issue visas for Bedouns at the right time in order to avoid delays.
Sources said the ministry will request for the meeting with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Embassy in Kuwait to discuss this matter. Sources added the ministry addressed the concerned bodies more than once in the past, but it did not receive any response on preventing the delayed issuance of visas.
Minister of Education Dr Bader Al-Essa affirmed that he has not yet received the final report from the committee which is in charge of studying the issue of fake academic certificates, revealing that he will meet the committee as soon as it completes its work, reports Al-Anba daily. He said the reports of the two issues concerning fake certificates and those who obtained PhD while working will be submitted to the Cabinet for taking final decision. The minister revealed that about 6,000 individuals obtained PhD while they were employed due to which the report needs to be studied because it is submitted to the Cabinet.
With nearly 21,000 male and female citizens waiting to be appointed based on the automated system, Civil Service Commission (CSC) will Thursday announce the new batch of more than 2,000 applicants for appointment, reports Annahar daily quoting reliable sources. They said CSC is working in line with the specific recruitment policies especially after the Secretariat General for Planning has submitted a follow-up report to the Cabinet and the National Assembly to fill the gaps in the public and private sectors with national workers.
