Moc To Ban Imports Of ‘ice Breakers’ Gum Because It Contains Pig Gelatin
The decision to ban the import of gum “Ice Breakers Gum” and its various flavors and types in Kuwait, came into force after it was published in the Official Gazette (Kuwait Al-Yawm) in its Sunday (Aug 25, 2019) issue, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The decision was taken by the Assistant Undersecretary for Consumer Protection and Control at the Ministry of Commerce to ban imports because the product contains pig gelatin.
The Public Authority for Food has recommended after an emergency session to instruct the Deputy Director General for Inspection and Control Affairs to withdraw the product from the markets and take appropriate measures in accordance with the rules and regulations.
The authority stressed the gum products of all kinds are not suitable for people who follow halal food because they contain pig gelatin.
