Moe Issued A New Decision To Allow Registration In Filipino Schools
Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohammad Al-Fares has issued a new decision to allow registration in Filipino schools, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting educational sources. They said the minister cancelled the previous decision which had stopped registration in Filipino schools, indicating that the new decision allows registration in these schools starting from the academic year 2016/2017.
Meanwhile, Director of Hawalli Educational Zone Mansour Al-Zufairi announced that 24 teachers from six educational zones have obtained professional certificates in English Language Teaching after completing the training course organized by the US Embassy in Kuwait in cooperation with the World Bank. He added the training course helped the teachers to boost their knowledge, which will refl ect positively on their students.
The concluding activities of the course were held at the Training and Development Center affiliated to the Ministry of Education in Jabriya area. In a statement, cultural attaché at the US Embassy in Kuwait Charles Cole said the training course, which lasted six days covered teachers from six educational zones to develop their proficiency in English language, especially in the context of setting exam questions. He added Kuwait and the US aim to improve the English language skills of Kuwaiti students, as it’s essential in completing their studies in the United States. He indicated an estimated 15,000 Kuwaiti students are currently studying in the US, and he wishes the number will increase. For her part, acting first ELT Supervisor Hadeel Al-Kandari said the training course focused on methods of setting exams limited to the curriculum. She said the relatively high standard set for composition section is for the benefit of students.
