Mof Announces Budget Surplus Of Kd 1.29 Billion In April And May

Ministry of Finance announced a budget surplus of KD 1.29 billion in April and May, reports Al-Rai daily. The surplus prior to the deduction of ten percent for the future generations fund is KD 1.61 billion ($ 5.4 billion) during the two months prior to the transfer of KD 320 million. According to the obtained data, the general revenues of nearly KD 3.2 billion was recorded during the two months, while the expenses reached about KD 1.25 billion.

The ministry revealed that the oil revenues during the months of April and May 2018 reached KD 3 billion (23 percent of the targeted amount in the 2018/2019 fiscal year of KD 13.3 billion). Meanwhile, non-oil revenues were recorded to reach nearby KD 170 million including the proceeds from collection of taxes and fees which were a total of KD 94 million (17.1 percent).

Meanwhile, Ministry of Justice, with the determination to fill vacancies, is preparing to rejuvenate itself, following the approval of its new organizational structure, through the announcement of the intention to fill about 170 vacant supervisory positions in various sectors of the ministry at the level of observer and head of department, reports Al-Rai daily.

All eyes are on the new structure that was recently approved by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to include participation of all elements of the ministry in the implementation of the ministry’s strategic plan, the starting points of which are based on the principles of the developmental plan of Kuwait, with the support of Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Fahad Al-Afasi and Undersecretary of Ministry of Justice Abdullatif Al-Sare’ for achieving and implementing operational and strategic plans.
